Bio 301 Frontiers in Biology
Together with Christine Jacobs-Wagner. Fall quarter.
A 'reading-club' for onboarding graduate students in cellular, molecular, and organismal biology. We discuss recent literature from different areas of biology.
Bio 120/220 Microbial Systems Biology
Winter quarter (See the course explorer and search for Bio120 or Bio 220 for most recent schedule).
A combination of lectures and dry-lab classes on prokaryotic life. We discuss the physiological, ecological, and evolutionary aspects of bacterial life. Focus on gut-bacteria and the model-organism Escherichia coli. Dry-labs are based on Python and give introduction to data analysis and modeling approaches. For undergradaute and graduate students in biology. Students from other disciplines are also welcome. We particularly encourage students with less math and coding background to join.
